I needed a reason to eat out

I picked up the boys from daycare, and we headed to the nursing home to visit Grandma. Tanner had lots of yummy treats from his first of several Halloween parties, so the boys and I were chowing down on all the candy in front of my grandma. She is diabetic, so she didn't join in. That was slightly rude of us, wasn't it?! She was hungry and asked me to go grab something for all of us. Since the boys started getting restless, and we were no longer hungry we turned her down.
We go home. I decide we need to get something in our stomachs besides sugar(even though I had just told my grandma we weren't hungry!). I turn on the stove, boil some water, milk and butter so that I could make mashed potatoes (yes, out of a box!). How hard is that?! Apparently, you should not allow that stuff to boil for like 20 or so minutes because it is going to evaporate and burn the pot. How did I screw up boxed mashed potatoes, you ask? Well, I sort of forgot! I know!
We ended up picking up dinner (chicken strips and fries) at the local diner and headed back to the nursing home...which made my grandma very happy. I think that I just really wanted to eat out all along, but I needed a really good excuse.

-A couple hours later, it still smells awful in our house!
-I was trying to add a picture, and I broke the usb cord. Sheesh!!!
