Self Portrait

They're at it again

The boys are fighting...all the time! I don't know what it is, but they can not spend more than 2 minutes together without fighting. Tanner looks at Jackson wrong, Jackson kicks Tanner, Tanner holds breath starts crying, Jackson gets in trouble, Jackson starts crying. Cycle begins again!

Easter egg hunting

A few soccer pics...ok, just two

I'm really not sure if you can pick out Tanner...he's wearing a red shirt :)

Easter Week: Days Two and Three and Four-I am Blessed

Day Two: I am blessed because I have a job. In this economy, making $8.81 an hour truly is a blessing!

Day Three: I am blessed because I have a roof over my head...even if it is a tiny little house with no closets, a porch that's about to fall off, and a basement that floods. (I still think it's cute!) In this economy where so many houses are being foreclosed on, I am SO VERY blessed!

Day Four: I am blessed because I just got a new job! I am officially a teacher!

"For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Easter Week: Day One-I am Blessed

I am blessed to have many wonderful friends, including bloggy friends!

Speaking to Me

I've been so bummed about the illnesses and conditions of some sweet little babies. I've been reading about Stellan and Gavin and Bella and Kellsey and Noah and the list goes on and on. In September, my best friend's daughter was born with down syndrome. It has been and will be a tough journey. There will be many doctors visits and who knows how many surgeries. I know they are up for the challenge, but it was not one they asked for. Another friend's daughter was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks before finally being diagnosed with a rare hypoglycemic disorder. In December, when Jackson was in the hospital for an asthma attack, I was scared. I turned to the only thing I knew to help me with my fear...my faith in God and the power of prayer. God is there. He is ALWAYS there. Even when it seems like he is not. I know He is. This week, He proved once again this truth. His Truth.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and he saves those crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18
I went to do my Bible study this week and Psalm 34:18 was my memory verse. God is good!

Soccer Mom

I am officially a soccer mom! Yea!! Tanner had his first game today. It was hilarious! I don't usually say this, but I was LMAO. My husband will be so embarrassed to know I put that on my blog. What am I saying? He thinks it's silly I even have a blog! Anyway, we had a blast cheering him on even though they lost something like 10-1. Tanner chased the ball around, but spent most of his time talking with players from the other team. It was so cute! I was so proud! He may not be a top athlete, but he will have great sportsmanship!

What Happened to my clean house?

I am missing my clean house these days. It's been a little bit over 2 months since I posted about my beautiful house and now I am posting about how a messy house has created a few small problems.
Last Saturday, I sat around the house reading a few books and watching the boys play. I wasn't sick...just being lazy. In my defense, it did snow about five inches, so we were homebound. Sunday, I didn't feel like doing much either. My husband jokingly asked if I still had feeling in my legs from all the laying around I had done. He thinks he is so funny. I rocked Jackson to sleep, and as I was heading to the boys' room I stepped on one of their toys. A tractor. Ahhhh! It hurt so bad. At first, I thought I'd twisted my ankle, but when I saw all the blood...Oh, the blood, I can't even finish the sentence. I had a gash in my foot the size of a one inch triangle. You may wonder how I can be so specific. This is the reason why. If you know anything about tractors, you know there is a giant flashing caution light on the back of the tractor. The toy tractor has one too (not flashing, but very sharp). I had to hobble around on crutches for a day, then I pulled a muscle in my other leg because I was overcompensating for the injured foot.
I doubt any of this would have happened if I still had a clean house. And here I sit, blogging about it instead of actually doing anything about it.
