It's No Secret

I went to the doctor today. I'm 17 weeks, and they gave me an ultrasound to make sure everything was looking okay. I have a low lying placenta, but I'm praying it will move. Anyway, the sonogram tech was so sweet. I asked her if she could peek at the gender and put the picture in an envelope. We all turned our heads, or so I thought, and she checked it out, typed the gender on the screen, and printed the picture out for us. We went out to dinner. My husband and I were debating over opening up the envelope when our 6 year old son says...It's a girl, she typed out G-I-R-L on the screen, I watched her. I could not believe it! I kept quizzing him about it, but I never peeked. We went to Target, and I came so close to letting him look at the picture and picking out a precious blanket for the baby...but, I couldn't do it. Barry was dying to know by this time. Next, we went to get ice cream and meet up with my dad. I was tempted to hand the envelope over to the girl getting our ice cream and tell her to give me pink or blue ice cream depending on the picture, but I still couldn't do it! I told my dad and Tanner they could look at the picture, but don't tell me anything. Well, I should have known better. As soon as we got in the car Tanner said, "It's a girl!" And, of course, I had to check it out for myself...and sure enough, we are having a precious baby girl!!!

No Diet Here

I have not started my diet yet. My goodies are ordered, but they haven't made it to my house. So I figure to get the most out of my diet, I should go on a major eating binge first.

Exhibit A
This is what is left of the cake baked yesterday. Yes, I ate most of it myself. Yes, I'm eating it directly out of the cake pan.

This little dude cracks me up!!

Living it up

We have been stuck at home for the past three days due to the weather conditions. I hate to say this, but I LOVE IT!! I haven't been that productive, but I have enjoyed listening to my boys play together (and fight!), hanging out with my husband, competing against each other on the Wii, snuggling together watching movies, reading books, and I even managed to grade a few papers!

Lack of Willpower

I'm trying to re-vamp my blog, and as I'm changing it up a bit I am laughing at my profile (which I wrote about 3 years ago)! It says that I love working out (which I do!), but I don't remember the last time I worked out! One of the last posts I wrote before my year-long blogging hiatus was about wanting to lose weight. I thought it would be a great idea to keep an on-line diary of my weight loss, but guess what?! I lost all willpower...I didn't blog, and I didn't lose weight! I believe in second chances, though, so I'm going to try it again. Starting at the end of January. Ha! I know I should put up the Golden Oreos and chocolate ice cream now, but I don't like to waste food and my weight loss products (protein shakes, detox tea, and fizzing beverage tablets) won't be here until the 30th. Sounds amazing, doesn't it?! I'm hoping to look like a movie star after 3 weeks! Isn't that how they do it? ;)

Playdate

My bestie and her two daughters joined us for a playdate today. The kiddos played and played, ate Mac and Cheese, watched a movie, and played some more. Tara and I talked and talked, ate Mac and Cheese, watched the end of a basketball game, and talked some more. It was so great! We've been best friends for over 10 years now! Ten years!! We had just started college when we first met...now our kids are friends, and it is the sweetest thing!
