The "Lone Star" State

Wow! What a weekend! The Lone Star, San Antonio, Beth Moore, Max Lucado, Kelly Minter, siestas, a pj party! It was a long wait, but it was so worth it! Nicole, Juliana, and I arrived in San Antonio around 11 am, and we were starving. First things first...food! We found a Mexican restaurant right across the street from our hotel...it was yummy! After lunch, we made a quick shopping trip to Target, then it was back to the hotel to get ready for the conference. Beth was AWESOME! She is such a phenomenal Bible teacher. The Holy Spirit was rocking the Alamodome that's for sure! When the conference ended, I was able to meet Kelly Minter, the author of No Other Gods. In case you're not familiar with it, it's a Bible study that questions who/what the idols are in our lives. I loved this Bible study because it made me realize even good things can become our idols if we're not careful. She was so gracious to sign my book and have her picture taken with me. After a restless night, we woke up, showered, dressed and headed down to breakfast. When I went to grab something to eat, I met Ashley who is also a siesta. I was so excited to meet her. She is so cute and sweet, and I really enjoy reading her blog! After breakfast, it was back to the conference. Beth taught more about our inheritance...what a wonderful inheritance it will be too! Once again, she was brilliant. Then, it was the Siesta Fiesta where we got to have our picture with Beth and her daughters. I knocked over a little old lady trying to get Amanda's attention. I never did because I was so embarrassed by what I had done! Oh well...maybe one day! Following the Fiesta, we ate at the Mexican restaurant again. Then, it was off to the Alamo! Following our tour of the Alamo, I joined some siestas at the pj party. I was not sure if I would enjoy myself, but I did. I sat with Linda and Xandra, both from Texas, and Jill and Lori, both from Florida. They were such a blast!!! Lori is so funny! She had me cracking up all night! I hope we get the chance to meet up again soon! I also got to meet Emily who was so sweet, and I couldn't wait to give her a hug after listening to her sad, but beautiful testimony. Sunday morning, we went to Oak Hills Church where Max Lucado is a pastor. Nicole and I had done the Experiencing the Heart of Jesus Bible study in the spring, so I was really looking forward to his sermon. He didn't disappoint! Plus, we got to enjoy the worship led by Travis Cottrell (Living Proof Live worship leader)! Aside from missing my boys tremendously, it was one of the best weekends I have ever had! I met so many wonderful people, and I'm so thankful God brought them into my lives.

I had so much fun sitting with you guys and getting to know you. I suddenly realized that I probably should rethink not wearing makeup to things like this in the future after I saw the picture of me!! LOL!
