It Is So Cold!
Seriously, the wind chill is supposed to be 20 below tomorrow morning. Do you think students should be standing outside waiting for busses tomorrow morning when it is that cold? NO! Tomorrow would be the perfect day to just hang out inside all day. Also, if it is going to be that cold...there should also be snow!! We have only had one snow day this year, and it was only going to be a half day anyway! Apparently, I need to move to Iowa where all the snow is...I'm so jealous! However, school lets out May 20th if there are no snow days. I'm okay with that...and I'm teaching PE tomorrow, and we're going to the Y. I think I'll be ok with the freezing cold after all!

I'm Addicted...
to sweets! All sweets! I posted awhile back about my Reese's Peanut Butter Trees addiction, but honestly it's not just the trees, the hearts, the eggs or even the peanut butter pumpkins...it's all chocolate! Last night, I ate half a chocolate cake AND half a container of chocolate ice cream! No LIE!
Oprah said on her show last week that she thinks people who overeat don't have balance in their lives. Well, it appears I may not have balance due to my single parenthood during basketball season...but, that is not the reason I ate half a cake. I ate it because it was DELICIOUS! Did I also mention I ate 4 Reese's Peanut Butter Hearts too?! They were also DELICIOUS! I know...I'm addicted! I may need counseling!

The Life of a Coach's Wife
During this time of year, I could change my blog to two boys and me. Barry is busy with basketball, and the boys and I will go to some of the games. But when it's really cold (like it is tonight!), there is no way we are going to get out. We just hang out in our cozy little home together reading stories and watching SpongeBob Squarepants. Unless, the boys spend most of the night bickering...UGH!
Tanner: Mommy, Jackson wants the Leapster. But, I am playing with it!
Jackson: Waaaaaah...Gimme...Waaaaah...Mine
Tanner: JACKSON!!!
Jackson: Waaaaaah...
Mommy: Tanner, please just give
Tanner: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Mommy: Please, just let him play with it.
Tanner hands over Leapster to Jax, then 5 minutes later they are at it again...only this time it starts off
Tanner: Mommy, Jackson has my green lightsaber.
Mommy: Tanner, please play with the blue lightsaber
Tanner: But, green is my favorite color and I'm playing Obi Kenobi. His lightsaber is green.
Mommy thinks to self: Calgon, Take Me Away!

It's a new year, but first, I have to catch you up on the old!
Happy New Year! Barry and I celebrated our 6th anniversary this New Year's Eve (the actual day is 12/28). We had a good time. We went out to dinner...Mexican, our favorite! Then, we went shopping...my favorite! Finally, we headed back to our luxurious suite... and we were asleep by 11:30! Sheesh!
Does anyone make New Year's Resolutions? I really don't. I did make a goal to start waking up at 5 or 5:30 to work out, have quiet time, and Bible study.
I start back to work tomorrow. There should be some big changes. I'm anxious to see what is in store for the remainder of the school year.
Jackson is doing well. He turned 2 on the 22nd. He was in the hospital on his birthday! The hospital was awesome, though. They brought him a balloon, Baseball Bear from Build-A-Bear, and a 40 piece Mr. Potato Head. He is cracking us up with his attitude! He refuses to share. I'm to blame on this one. He is always talking! He loves to cuddle! He is quite the ham! At the daycare Christmas program, he showed us he's got moves! Honestly, I didn't even think he'd make it up on stage.
He is ready to be potty trained, however, I'm not ready to potty train him. The reason is this...he is not ready to be out of his crib. Does that make sense? I am not going to potty train him until he is in a big boy bed. We have tried putting him to bed in Tanner's bed, and he just wants to play. This summer, we're getting a double bed for them to share, so that is when I plan on the training.
Tanner turned 4 on the 20th! I can not believe my first born is 4! He is so smart! He is very literal. He still loves Star Wars. He now owns 4 light sabers, 3 costumes, and numerous action figures. He would watch Star Wars: Clone Wars every day if we let him. He loves to give hugs. He will hug anyone. He is very loving! He has 2 girlfriends and another he plans to marry. So cute! He loves going to Sunday school and preschool. Really anything with the word school in it!

A Nice Write Up
The funeral was Wednesday, and it was the best celebration of life I have ever seen. Wednesday was also my grandma's birthday. It was the perfect day to say goodbye...for now.
Friday, the St. Joseph paper wrote a nice article about her. Here's the link for you to see, if you would like.
Thank you for all your sweet comments! I appreciate our bloggy friendship!

Busy Making Arrangements
I am busy with my grandmother's funeral arrangements this morning. She passed away early yesterday morning, and I am so sad! I take comfort in knowing she is now walking with Jesus. I'll write more when I have time, but for now I'm heading to the funeral home and flower shop.
Have a blessed day!
